In 2006 art galleries in the Historic Bronzeville community came together and recognized the need of an art tour for community residents, art patrons, collectors, students, and tourist that were interested in learning and acquiring art by African Americans. River North and other North Side galleries offered art walks and tours, but few exhibit works by African Americans.
